This year’s holiday shopping season is off to a great start. From November 1 through 26, e-commerce spending in the United States amounted to $16.38 billion, a 16 percent increase over the same period last year.

While e-commerce sales on Black Friday passed $1 billion for the first time, Cyber Monday once again saw the heaviest online spending: Americans spent $1.47 billion online, silencing rumours that the importance of Cyber Monday to online retailers might be declining.
