Growth of eCommerce in the U.S.

eCommerce in the US continues its growth and Amazon certainly is the largest player in the industry.

Since the 90’s pundits have maintained clicks will overtake bricks. While those anchored in the bricks defend the personalized service will demand bricks always and forever. As in most debates, the truth lies in between those extremes. Amazon has certainly been investing in bricks. These days that means, server farms and distribution hubs. While traditional retailers have been integrating clicks into their strategy. Expect the bricks and clicks players to be more difficult to separate.

The challenge for SME’s (small and medium sized enterprises) is how they can integrate technology into their business strategy. For long term survival, this question is one requiring their strategic focus. It is also their greatest opportunity to seize market share while other SME’s are struggling with this challenge as well.
